Recruitment of Engineering Assistants in All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan (DD)

All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan (DD) requires 215 Engineering Assistnats (UR-104, SC-38,ST-19,OBC-54) for Radio Stations/ Doordarshan Kendras/ LPTV Relay Centres in the network.

1. North Zone : Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Delhi and UT of Chandigarh : 106 posts (SC-27,ST-05,OBC-27,UR-47)
2. East Zone : West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar and Jharkhand : 02 posts (UR-01, OBC-1)
3. North East Zone : Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland & Sikkim : 37 posts (SC-2, ST-8, OBC-8, UR-19)
4. West Zone : Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Goa, UT of Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli : 29 posts (SC-03,ST-04,OBC-07,UR-15)
5. South Zone : Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, UT of Pondicherry, Andaman Nicobar and Lakshadweep : 41 posts (SC-06,ST-02,OBC-11,UR-22)

Pay Scale : Rs.5000-8000/-

Qualification : Three years Diploma in Radio/Tele-communication/ Electrical/ Electronics/ IT/ Electrical Communication Engineering recognised by Govt. of India OR Degree with Physics as one of the subjects from a recognised University OR Degree in Engineering in the relvant field from a recognised University OR Diploma in Sound Recording and Sound Engineering awarded by FTII, Pune.

Desirable : Knowledge of Wireless or Radio Engineering

Age : 18-27 years as on 07/10/2008. Age relaxation as per Govt. orders.

Selection Procedure : The recruitment will be made on the basis of written test of two hour duration on 21/12/2008 at 11.00 AM at different centres in India. The written test will consist of one paper having 175 objective type questions based on the syllabus of 3 years Diploma courses/B.Sc.(Physics) and 25 questions on GK and Current Affairs. negative marking for wrong answer.

How to Apply : Applications should be submitted in the prescribed OMR Application Forms. The application fee is Rs.100/- (Rs.25/- for SC/ST/PH/Ex-Serviceman), which can be procured from the main branch of SBI from the list provided in the detailed advt. upto 30/09/2008. The bank will charge Rs.10/- extra for their service. By Post - A request letter in candidates own writing along with self addressed envelope of size 14"x10" with postal stamp of Rs.32/- duly affixed on it with DD of the fee as prescribed aboce in favour of "Prasar Bharati (BCI) payable at New Delhi" and should be send to Chief Engineer (Training), Staff Training Institute (Technical), AIR & Doordarshan, Kingsway Delhi-110009 upto 30/09/08. Send caste certificate for reserved category. The envelop of request letter should be superscribed with "Recruitment of Engineering Assistants-2008"
